Relocation Guide

Moving to Raleigh? Here's Your DMV Checklist

Everything you need to know about getting your NC driver's license and registering your vehicle in Wake County.

The 60-Day Rule

North Carolina law requires new residents to obtain an NC driver's license within 60 days of establishing residency. You'll also need to register your vehicle within 30 days if you plan to drive it in the state.

The Problem

DMV appointments in Wake County are often booked 60-90 days out—longer than your legal deadline. That's where we come in.

  • Current out-of-state license (must be valid or expired less than 2 years)
  • Proof of identity (passport, birth certificate, or REAL ID-compliant document)
